How It Happened

* With less than five minutes to play in the first half and what appeared to be a scoreless game heading into halftime, the script was turned when the Tigers struck with the game's first goal.  Sophomore Brenna McCarry (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) scored her first goal of the season in the 41st minute after collecting a loose ball that went over the head of the Chestnut Hill goalkeeper.

* In the final minute, the Tigers nearly doubled their lead before half but a header shot inside the box by sophomore Mel Prinos (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) was stopped by the Griffins' keeper, Bri Hewlett.

* The Tigers did eventually double their lead late in the second half.  Freshman Abbie D'Ambra (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) scored her first collegiate goal in the 77th minute with a longshot towards the top right corner of the net that went over the head of Hewlett for the score.

Inside the Box Score

* Senior goalkeeper Alayna McSeed (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) recorded her fourth shutout of the season and eighth of her career after making five saves in net.  Her shutout streak has reached 476:15 minutes without allowing a goal.  McSeed's last goal allowed came earlier this month against Bentley University in the 19th minute.

*  The goals scored by McCarry and D'Ambra marked the seventh and eighth different player to score a goal for the Tigers this season.

* Holy Family recorded a season-high 24 shots with a season-best 13 on-target.  Sophomore Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) led the Tigers with five shots, while freshman Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) and Prinos each had three shots.

* Hewlett made 11 saves in net for Chestnut Hill.

CACC Weekly Honors
Holy Family cleaned up when the CACC announced yesterday's Weekly Awards for games played in the week ending Sept. 26.  Senior Jacqueline was named the CACC Player of the Week, while McSeed was named the Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week.  Sophomore Carly Nothnagel (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) was tabbed Rookie of the Year and Kilkenny was among those listed on the Weekly Honor Roll.
