Tigers Blank Cross-Town Rival Rams to Open New Tiger Field



Philadelphia Pa. – The Holy Family University women's soccer team opened New Tiger Field in grand fashion with a 1-0 victory over cross-town rival Thomas Jefferson University in the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest of the season on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened
 
* It didn't take long for the Tigers to break in the new field scoring the game's first goal in the fourth minute of action.  Freshman Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) scored her first collegiate goal off a shot right in front of the net that sailed over the head of the Jefferson keeper.  Senior Kait Findlay (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) assisted on the play.
 
* Senior goalkeeper Alayna McSeed (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) kept the Jefferson in check making six saves in the game; three in each half.
 
* After just four shots in the first half, Holy Family kept the pressure on the Rams with 10 shots in the second stanza. 
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Hooten led the Tigers with three shots in the game.  Holy Family had four players record two shots.
 
* Jefferon goalkeeper Jackie Marinto finished with four saves.

Today marked the 29th meeting between Holy Family and Jefferson since the start of the 1998 season. The Tigers are now 13-12-4 versus the Rams in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
