Tigers Finish Third at Philadelphia Metro Invitational

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University women's cross country team finished third overall as a team at the annual Philadelphia Metropolitan Cross Country Invitational on Saturday hosted by Thomas Jefferson University at Belmont Plateau.

Race Recap/Notes

* Holy Family had four runners finish in the top-25 and all seven participants placed in the top-30.

* Junior Shania Le Maitre (Champs Fleurs, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name Convent) was the team's top finisher for the second straight week as she finished the 5k-course in a time of 22:33.7.

* Senior Susan Bridge (Delran, N.J./Delran) finished 22^nd overall in 24:04.6 and was followed by junior Desiree Draper (Philadelphia, Pa./John W. Hallahan Catholic) and senior Victoria Reid (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) who placed 23^rd and 24^th respectively. Draper finished in 24:13.1, while Reid recorded a time of 24:25.4.

* Junior Teresa Faust (Pennsauken, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) was the Tigers' final scorer in the race as she finished closely with a time of 24:51.2 to recorded a 27^th place showing.

* Holy Family's third place team finish is the best showing in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Invitational in program history. The Tigers previous-best finish was sixth place in 2017.

Holy Family returns to action on Friday, Sept. 17 as the Tigers take part in the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic held at Carousel Park in Wilmington, Del.
