Holy Family Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2021



Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University Athletic Department is proud to announce the induction of five new members to the Holy Family Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2021 as announced by Director of Athletics, Tim Hamill
 
"It gives me great honor to announce this astounding induction class," said Hamill.  "These five individuals really personify what it means to be a Holy Family Tiger.  The accomplishments that they made on the field and court are just as impressive as the milestones they reached in the classroom, in the community and currently as alumni.  I am looking forward to formally inducting them into our Hall of Fame and celebrating their remarkable careers at Holy Family during Homecoming Weekend!"
 
The Class of 2021 includes, Matt Gamble '03 (Men's Soccer), Erik Henrysen '99 (Men's Basketball), Kelly Killion '08 (Women's Basketball), Joe Mikolajewski (Women's Soccer Head Coach) and Melissa Zebley '04 (Softball).
 
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, Oct. 8 in part of Homecoming Weekend at Holy Family.  More details on the induction ceremony will be available in the coming weeks along with registration and ticket information.

Matt Gamble '03 | Men's Soccer
The program's all-time leading scorer, Gamble amassed 107 points in his four-year career with the men's soccer team.  He finished his playing career with 107 points after totaling 38 goals and 31 assists.  Gamble is tied for third in the men's soccer record book in goals and is the all-time leader in assists.  He went on to earn All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) first team honors in 2001 for the first time after a career season finishing third in the conference in scoring with 37 points (11G/15A).  Gamble capped his final season in 2002 with another All-CACC first team recognition campaign.  During his freshman season, the Tigers won the CACC Regular Season Title and advanced all the way to the CACC semifinals in the program's first year in the conference.  Holy Family returned to the CACC semifinals two years later.  In addition, as a team the Tigers also qualified and advanced to the NAIA Northeast Region semifinals in 1999 and the NAIA Independent Region semifinals in 2002; the program's final official season as part of a NAIA member institution.
 
Erik Henrysen '99 | Men's Basketball
Only four players in men's basketball program history have scored 2,000-plus points in their respective careers with Henrysen being one of them. He scored 2,115 points in his four-year career and to this day ranks third all-time in the program's record book.  He leads all Holy Family men's basketball players with 400 career three-pointers with 1,200 of his career 2,115 points coming from deep range.  Henrysen is also one of the program's most proficient free throw shooters as he holds a career .847 percentage from the line ranking third-best all-time.  His 360 made free throws are six-most program history.  Defensively, Henrysen ranks eighth all-time with 159 steals. In 1998 and 1999, Henrysen was named to the NAIA National All-American Honorable Mention team.  He was also part of the two men's basketball teams that advanced to the NAIA National First Round in 1996 and 1999. 
 
Kelly Killion '08 | Women's Basketball
One of only two student-athletes in the department's Division II era to be named CACC Player of the Year twice, Killion was also a four-time All-CACC selection for the decorative women's basketball team from 2004-2008.  She earned her first Player of the Year award as a junior in 2007 and then again, in her senior season in 2008.  Those two years Killion was also named to the Daktronics All-East Region first team.  In her career, Killion amassed 1,574 points, which ranks 10th most in program history.  She finished her career as the program's top three-point shooter with 313 made three-pointers.  Killion also ranks second all-time with 619 assists and seventh in field goals made with 516.  Killion was part of three CACC Championship teams while at Holy Family and went to the NCAA Tournament all four years of her career, including the 2008 team that advanced all the way to the regional final for the first time in program history.  In 2017, Killion and her teammates of the 2007-08 team were inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame.
 
Joe Mikolajewski (1997-2003) | Women's Soccer Head Coach
The program's first head coach, Mikolajewski guided the women's soccer team from its inaugural year in 1997 until his final season in 2003.  In seven seasons at the helm, Mikolakewski generated 112 victories with an impressive winning percentage of .723.  Under his leadership the Tigers qualified for the NAIA Tournament all seven seasons.  When Holy Family officially joined the CACC in 1999, Mikolakewski raised four championship banners in a five-year span with titles in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003.  The 2000 season saw the Tigers win a program record 19 games, including a perfect 10-0-0 record in conference play.  The Tigers went undefeated in the CACC in three of the five years under Mikolakewski. He was named the CACC Coach of the Year in 2003.
 
Melissa Zebley '04 | Softball
One of the most clutch hitters in program history, Zebley is just one of two players to record 200-plus career hits.  She graduated as the team's all-time leader in hits with 205 and now is currently second in the program's record book.  Zebley is filtered through the Holy Family record book ranking first in doubles (48), at-bats (599) and games played (184), second in total bases (286), third in runs scored (127) and ninth in triples (6).  Zebley is a three-time All-CACC selection earning first team honors in 2002 and 2003 and second team recognition her senior year in 2004.  That year Holy Family advanced to the program's first CACC Title game.  In addition to her softball accolades, Zebley was also a standout volleyball player earning All-CACC honors in 2003 (2nd team) and 2004 (first team).  She was the first player in the program's history to earn All-CACC recognition.  Zebley was part of the program's inaugural team in 2003 and in two seasons totaled 862 digs and 110 service aces.
