Bensalem, Pa. – The Holy Family University softball team dropped its final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season doubleheader versus Nyack College by the scores of 6-5 and 9-1 on Sunday afternoon at Bensalem High School.

How It Happened (Game 1)
* Trailing 5-0 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, Holy Family rallied for four runs to cut the Nyack lead to 5-4 by innings end. The Tigers plated four runs in the inning all with two outs. Junior
Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) highlighted the inning with a two-run double.
* In the bottom of the fifth the Tigers tied the game at 5-5 thanks to a leadoff home run by junior
Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional). It marked her team-leading seventh home run of the season.
* The Warriors responded in the top half of the sixth when Isabella Morales drove in what would eventually be the game-winning run with a two-out single to center field.
* Nyack jumped out to a 5-0 lead with three runs in the first inning and two more runs in the third.
Inside the Box Score (Game 1)
* Hansen's fifth inning homer marked the 15
th of her career.

Michelle Slaughter (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate to go along with one run and one RBI.

Heather Bogardus (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) also had multiple hits in the game as she finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.
* Morales was the lone Nyack player to record multiple hits as she finished 2-for-4 with two RBI. Kaila Quick reached base three times as she drew three base on balls.
How It Happened (Game 2)
* A six-run third inning by the Warriors turned out to be the difference in the game. With the game tied 1-1, Nyack took advantage of two Holy Family errors and three walks in the inning to plate six runs. Janelle Adams and Izzy Murillo each drove in a pair of runs in the inning.
* Nyack would go on to add single runs in the fifth and sixth inning to complete the six-inning victory.
* Holy Family scored its lone run in the bottom of the first inning with a two-out single down the left field line by junior
Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) to drive in junior
Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) who led the inning off with a base hit.
Inside the Box Score (Game 2)
* Smith led the Tigers with three hits in the game.
* Sophomore Mackenna Patterson also had multiple hits in the game and finished 2-for-3.
* Slaughter added another hit in game two to finish the afternoon a combined 4-for-7 at the plate.
* Adams drove in a game-high three RBI for the Warriors after a 2-for-4 game. Murillo was also had two hits (2-4) to go along with two RBI.

Today marked the 37
th and 38
th meetings between Holy Family and Nyack since the start of the 2002 season. The Tigers are now 30-8 versus the Warriors in that span.

The Tigers will now await the announcement on the pairings to the upcoming CACC Tournament which is set to begin with first round action on Wednesday, May 5. The conference tournament will now feature all 13 remaining teams in the 2021 season.
