How It Happened (Game 1)

* Post jumped out to a 6-0 lead after plating two runs in the first inning and four runs in the third inning.  Holy Family finally got on the board in the fourth inning when junior Stephanie Uribe (San Diego, Calif./Liberty Charter High) scored on a Post error.  The Tigers added two more in the fifth to cut the lead in half when junior Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) connected on a two-run homer.

* The Eagles increased their lead back to six runs in the bottom of the fifth with three more runners crossing the plate to make the score 9-3.  They added two more in the sixth for the walk-off victory as the eight-run mercy rule went into effect.

Inside the Box Score (Game 1)

* Hansen's two-run homer marked her sixth home run of the season.

* Senior Taylor Nichols (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

* For Post, Allyson Wallauer and Bailee Zaccaro each drove in three runs.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* Junior Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) (4-7) struck out seven batters and held Post to just a single run while the offense did the rest to lift the Tigers to a one-sided victory in the latter game.

* Remington helped her own cause in the opening inning with a run scoring double to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.  In the third the Tigers added three more runs with Remington forcing in a run after getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.  Two batters later, senior Heather Bogardus (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) drove in two runs with a single to center field to make the score 4-0.

* Holy Family came through with four more runs in the top half of the sixth all of which happened with two outs in the inning.  After senior Michelle Slaughter (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) reached base by an error, the Eagles retired the next two batters.  However, an infield hit by Hansen followed by a walk by Remington loaded the bases.  Junior Jasmine Martinez (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Polytechnic) and Bogardus each drove in a run with back-to-back infield singles before Uribe drove in a pair with a base hit to center field.

* Holy Family added one more run in the seventh with a run scoring single by Hansen.  Junior Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) scored on the play after reaching base with a double earlier in the inning.

Inside the Box Score (Game 2)

* Hansen went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.

* Post's lone run in the game came in the fourth inning as Rianne Mayer drove in the run with a single.
