How It Happened (Game 1)

* The Holy Family offense produced four runs in the opening inning as the Tigers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead.  Junior Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) reached base on an error to start the inning and then the Tigers followed with four straight singles with senior Taylor Nichols (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) and junior Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) producing run scoring hits.  After a quick pitching change the Tigers added two more runs in the inning with freshman Emily Siwek (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) and senior Michelle Slaughter (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) driving in runs.

* The Tigers' lead didn't last long as the Wildcats responded in a big way in the top half of the second inning.  Wilmington took advantage of three Holy Family errors in the inning and produced 11 runs off six hits.  Alyssa Velasquez and Lauren Lopez each drove in a pair of runs in the inning.
