How It Happened

* Caldwell struck first when William Hernandez scored his first goal of the season in the 24th minute.  However, the Cougars lead was very short-lived as Holy Family responded just over a minute later to tie the game at 1-1.  Taylor connected on his first goal of the season after receiving a cross-pass from the right side from junior Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm)

* The Tigers grabbed their first lead in the 40th minute off the foot of senior Sean McCormick (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge).  From about 25 yards out, McCormick broke free from the right side and launched a shot that sore past the Caldwell keeper into the upper right part of the net. Junior Will Stackhouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) was credited with the assist on the play.

* The score remained 2-1 until early in the second half when Taylor scored his second goal of the game.  He collected a loose ball inside the box and was able to beat the goalkeeper with the score, extending the Tigers lead to 3-1 in the 55th minute.

* The Tigers tacked on a late goal in the 79th minute to put the game out of reach at 4-1.  Senior goalkeeper Mark Tobin (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (La Salle Univ.)) sent the ball sailing down field and found a wide open McCormick who fired a shot on net but his shot hit off the right post.  Sophomore Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa./Abington) was right there to get the rebounded ball and cleared the goal line for the score.

News and Notes

* Taylor's two scores marked his first multi goal game of his career and set a career-high with points in a game with four.

* McCormick finished the game with three points (G/A) to set a season-high in scoring.

* Touey's goal marked his second score in as many games and ties his career-high for goals in a season.
* Tobin finished the afternoon with a season-high seven saves in net after Caldwell fired 18 shots, nine of which were on target.

* McCormick and Touey each had four shots to lead the team, while junior Georg Montag (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) tallied three shots.
