How It Happened

* Holy Family kept it close despite falling behind 2-0 early on in the contest.  Back-to-back goal by junior Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) followed by a tally from junior Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) gave the Tigers a 3-2 lead by the 13:29 mark of the opening half.

* The Tigers' lead would be short-lived as the Spartans tied the game with a goal by Olivia Cerbo which jump started a quick 3-0 run to regain the lead at 5-3 with 7:06 to play in the half.  Pulley would go on to score her second goal of the half to halt the Spartan run and bring the Tigers to within one point of tying the game.  Holy Family would go on to win the ensuing draw and Pulley nearly tied the game on the possession but her shot was saved by Spartan goalkeeper Laura Delorenzo.

* STAC closed out the final five minutes of the first half with three goals to extend its lead to 8-4 entering halftime. The Spartans opened the second half with a goal to increase the run to 4-0 before Santucci connected on her team-leading third goal of the game to make the score 9-5 at the 22:45 mark.

* The Spartans' defense would hold Holy Family to just one more goal in the final 22:45 minutes of the game, while its offense closed out the game with a 7-1 run.
