How It Happened

* Holy Family dominated the opening set in all aspects.  The Tigers recorded 11 kills on 22 attempts and committed just one error on the attack for a .455 attack percentage.  The defense limited the Chargers to just six kills and forced seven errors.  On the serve, Holy Family recorded seven of the team's 12 aces in the first set.  Senior Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake), the CACC Co-Player of the Year, had three of the seven aces and helped jumpstart a 7-0 run that increased an 8-7 to a 15-7 advantage.

* The second set Dominican led 5-4 before a massive 7-0 run by the Tigers turned the tide in the set.  Holy Family took control and never looked back as the Tigers' offense exploded for 16 kills in the set.  Six different players recorded kills in the set and sophomore Allyssa Hartney (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) recorded six of her 11 kills in the match in the set.

* Holy Family clinched the match with another convincing set victory.  The Tigers' defense held Dominican to only three kills, while the offense countered with 13 kills.  Another early run gave the Tigers the edge.  Leading just 4-3, Holy Family scored seven of the next nine points to lead 11-5. After a point by the Chargers, a Tigers' run of four straight points made the score 15-6.  Dominican cut the lead to five at 18-13 but that was as close as the Chargers would get to the lead.  Holy Family followed with four straight points, including a pair of aces by sophomore Maeve Boylan (Ridley Township, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) to put the score out of reach.
