How It Happened

* Holy Family opened the first set with four straight points and never trailed in the set, however Nyack kept things interesting staying within three points of the Tigers' lead throughout.  It wasn't until late in the set that the Tigers pulled away.  Leading 18-15, Holy Family scored three unanswered points to grab its biggest lead of the set at 21-15.  However, the Tigers' comfortable lead quickly diminished after Nyack responded by scoring six of the next seven points in the set, including five straight to make the score 22-21.  The Warriors luck ran out as three straight miscues gave the Tigers the final three points needed to take the opening set, 25-21.

* Holy Family trailed for the first time in the match when Nyack opened the second set with back-to-back points.  The Tigers responded with six straight points thanks to four kills by the offense.  Holy Family never trailed from that point forward despite Nyack once again keeping close to the Tigers.  Holy Family led 20-17 late in the set before closing out the Warriors with the final five points of set.  The Tigers once again took advantage of Warrior errors as three of the final five points were on errors.

* The third and final set saw the Tigers leading by as many as eight points after another error by the Warriors made the score 18-10.  The Tigers once led 13-6 before extending their advantage to eight points. Holy Family went on to take the set, 25-20.
