How It Happened

* Holy Family overcame an early 6-2 deficit in the opening set thanks to 13-2 run that included eight straight points on the tail end to give the Tiers a 15-8 lead.  Holy Family never trailed again in the set despite five straight points by the Clippers to make the score 15-13.  The Tigers responded with seven unanswered points before putting the set to rest with a 25-17 triumph.

* In the second set it was the Tigers that opened with an early run scoring the first five points of the set while establishing a 9-2 advantage before a Clippers' rally.  With the score 10-6 in favor of the Tigers, the home team went on to score 10 of the next 11 points in the set to take a commanding 20-7 lead.  Holy Family would go on to take the set, 25-11, after closing the set with four straight points.

* Holy Family trailed the third and eventual final set just once and that was after Concordia scored the opening point of the set.  From there Holy Family broke a 4-4 tie after a bad set by the Clippers and back-to-back aces by senior Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake).  Holy Family never relinquished the lead nor allow the Clippers to tie the set despite keeping it close.  The Clippers trailed 20-18 before holy Family closed out the match with the final five points, four of which were kills.
