How It Happened

* Holy Family came out the gate firing as the Tigers mounted a double-digit lead by the 3:16 mark of the first quarter.  A three-pointer by junior Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) made the score 18-8.  The Tigers would go on to lead 26-15 by quarters end thanks to a three-pointer by freshman Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) to close out the first frame.

* The momentum carried over into the second quarter with the Tigers scoring eight of the first 10 points of the quarter to increase their lead to as many as 17 points at 34-17.  Holy Family maintained its double-digit advantage through the rest of the quarter, entering halftime with a 38-25 lead.

* Momentum shifted gears in the third quarter as Wilmington opened with an 11-4 surge to cut the deficit down to six points.  A three-pointer by Tanasia Miles made the score 42-36 at the 6:30 mark. The Tigers increased their lead back to double-digits on three occasions with the latter coming with 1:47 remaining when sophomore Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) drained a three to make the score 55-44.

* The Tigers 11-point lead quickly disappeared in the fourth after Wilmington scored the quarter's first 10 points to come within one point of the lead.  After a Moore free throw ended the run, the Wildcats tied the game at 56-56 with a basket on their next possession.

* Wilmington tied the game at 60-60 with just over three minutes remaining in regulation.  Tretter gave the Tigers the lead with a jumper but the Wildcats would once again tie the score on the next possession. With the score tied 62-62, Wilmington made a defensive stop which led to a score to grab the lead. Two more defensive stops by the Wildcats led two trips to the line which Wilmington went 4-of-4 to increase its lead to 68-62.  With :17 seconds left; Holy Family made the score 68-64 but another trip to the free throw line sealed the game for the Wildcats.
