How It Happened

* Holy Family scored the game's first six points and led majority of the first half.  However, at the 7:10 mark the Wildcats grabbed the lead when a Justin Thomas jumper made the score 17-16. The Wildcats would go on to lead by as many as five points (25-20) with less than three minutes to play until halftime.  The Tigers cut the lead down to one thanks to David Robinson, Jr. (North Wales, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) scoring a layup basket to make the score 27-26 with :22 seconds left.  The Wildcats responded to close the half with a buzzer beater three-pointer to increase the halftime advantage to 30-26.

* In the second half the Tigers eventually tied the game at 35-35 with Manny Toha (Newark, N.J./Marist) scoring a fast-break basket at the 17:18 mark.  Two possessions later, the Wildcats recaptured the lead with a Kam Cooper three-pointer, which led to a massive surge by the home squad.  Wilmington ripped off a 10-0 run that was started and ended by Cooper.  The Wildcats led 45-35 at the 14:51 mark.

* Over the next seven-plus minutes, Wilmington produced a 15-7 run to grab its biggest lead of the game at 60-42 with 8:56 showing on the clock.  The Wildcats maintained a double-digit advantage until the final :13 seconds of the game.
