How It Happened

* In a low scoring first half, Holy Family erased a nine-point deficit with just over two minutes remaining in the second quarter.  The Tigers trailed 29-20 before closing out the half with a 7-0 run to come within two points of the Griffins by halftime.  Sophomore Taylor Cotter (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI Catholic) capped the run with a jumper with about seven seconds remaining to make the score, 29-27.

* Momentum wasn't on the Tigers' side to open the second half as Chestnut Hill used a 15-4 rally over the first five minutes of the third quarter to grab its biggest lead of the game at 44-31.  Holy Family once again rallied and made it a five-point game at 48-43 with a minute to go in the quarter before the Griffins scored two points on free throws before quarters end to lead 50-43.

* Holy Family kept pace with Chestnut Hill in the fourth quarter never trailing more than two possessions.  Freshman Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) connected on a three-pointer to cut the deficit down to one at 59-58 with 5:12 to play.  Chestnut Hill add another basket before Riepe struck again with another three-pointer to tie the game at 61-61 at the 3:41 mark.

* Two possessions later the Tigers took the lead at 63-61 on a Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) layup basket with 2:47 remaining.  It marked the Tigers first advantage since leading 14-12 early in the second quarter.

* Chestnut Hill would tie the game with a score by Cassie Sebold with 1:30 on the clock and then regained the lead on its next possession off a jumper by Leah Miller.  The Griffins led 65-63 with :48 seconds left. A Holy Family missed shot on its ensuing possession forced the Tigers to foul.  Sebold split a pair of free throws for the Griffins to make the score 66-63.  A last second shot by the Tigers right before the final buzzer fell short.
