How It Happened

* Holy Family trailed 59-54 with 2:50 remaining in regulation after Saint Anselm's McKenzy Ouellette converted a three-point play with a made basket and free throw after being fouled.  On the Tigers' ensuing possession, freshman Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) scored a layup basket and after a defensive stop, graduate Megan Hughes (Point Pleasant Boro, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro) followed with a layup of her own to make the score 59-58 with less than two minutes to play.

* The Tigers made another defensive stop with sophomore Taylor Cotter (Fairfax, Va./Paul VI Catholic) recording her second steal of the game leading to junior Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) being fouled on a shot attempt.  Moore split a pair of free throws to tie the game at 59-59.  The Hawks broke the tie on their next possession with a basket by Peyton Steinman.  The Tigers cut the lead down to 61-60 on their following possession with Moore splitting another two free throws.

* With the Hawks leading by one with less than a minute to play, Melanie Hoyt had a chance to put the home team ahead by three but missed a wide-open layup.  Hoyt was able to grab the offensive board and was able to get off another layup but that attempt also fell short with Moore grabbing the board.  After a Holy Family timeout, Moore scored a layup basket to give the Tigers a 62-61 lead.

* On Saint Anselm's final possession, a missed three-pointer led to a key defensive rebound by Hughes leading to a forced foul on Moore with three seconds remaining. Moore made both free throws to give the Tigers a 64-61 lead.  The Hawks were unable to get a final shot off before the final buzzer.

* Holy Family led by as many as 12 points at one point in the game.  The Tigers held a 20-8 advantage after Moore's first basket of the game at the 9:26 mark of the second quarter.  The Hawks would eventually eliminate the deficit and tie the game at 29-29 before the Tigers scored the final two points of the opening half on free throws by junior Jada Saeger (Walnutport, Pa./Northern Lehigh) to lead 31-29 at the half.
