Tigers Shutout Cougars to Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play



Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University women's soccer team continues to cruise through Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play as the Tigers posted their sixth shutout in as many conference games played this season.  Holy Family defeated Caldwell, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at New Tiger Field in part of Homecoming at the University.

How It Happened
 
* One shot turned out to be the difference in the game and it came off the foot of senior Jacqueline Ziegler (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) in the 51st minute.  Ziegler beat her defender and created space to get a shot off from the right side.  Her shot curved towards the lower-left of the net to get by the Caldwell keeper.
 
* Holy Family pressured Caldwell all game with 17 shots, including 10 in the first half.

* Ziegler's score marked her second goal of the season. She finished the game with a career-high seven shots with three on-target.
 
* Senior goalkeeper Alayna McSeed (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) earned the win as she made three saves to secure her sixth shutout of the season; all coming against conference opponents. 
 
* In six conference games thus far this season, Holy Family has outscored its opponents by a 9-0 margin.
 
All-Time Results
Today marked the 30th meeting between Holy Family and Caldwell since the start of the 1999 season.  The Tigers are now 23-6-1 versus the Cougars in the all-time series.  Holy Family has won the last three matchups in the series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13 as the Tigers head to Connecticut to face the University of New Haven in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
