Tigers Fall to Dolphins in Non-Conference Tilt



Philadelphia, Pa. – The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to the College of Staten Island by the score of 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon at New Tiger Field.

How It Happened
 
* Staten Island jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game.  Daniel Angulo scored his first goal of the season in the sixth minute off a free kick from just outside the box. 
 
* The Dolphins held on to the 1-0 advantage through the rest of the half and into halftime despite the Tigers recording seven corner kick attempts in the first half.  Holy Family launched seven shots in the first 45 with three going on-goal.
 
* The score remained 1-0 until the 82nd minute when the Dolphins doubled their lead.  Shane Siegel tallied his second goal of the season to make the score 2-0 with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Senior goalkeeper Ryan Stock (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) was making his first start of the season for the Tigers.  He finished the game with four saves, including three stops in the first half. 
 
* Senior Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm) led the Tigers with four shots and had three of them on-target.

Today marked the first-ever meeting between Holy Family and Staten Island. The Dolphins are now official members of the East Coast Conference (ECC).
 
Next Up
