How It Happened

* Holy Family cruised to a 25-14 victory in the opening set.  Leading 6-5 early on in the set, the Tigers scored seven of the next eight points in the set, including a stretch of six straight points to pull ahead at 13-6.  The Tigers would go on to lead by as many as 11 points after scoring four of the final five points in the set.

* After dropping the second set, the Tigers found themselves trailing 8-4 early in the third set.  Holy Family eventually tied the set at 9-9 before the Bears grabbed the lead again at 10-9.  However, that lead would be short-lived as Holy Family took advantage of back-to-back miscues by the Bears and a service ace by sophomore Faith Zehnder (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) gave the Tigers a 12-10 edge.  Holy Family would hold on to the lead from there on out to take the set, 25-18.  The Tigers recorded a match-high 17 kills in the set.  Senior Zoe Krause (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) accounted for five of the team's 17 kills in the set, while Carly Covington (Delmar, Md./Delmar) had four kills.

* Holy Family closed the match out with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set.  A small 4-0 run after trailing 5-4 turned out to be enough for the Tigers to pull away from the Bears.  The Tigers would increase their lead to as many as six points in the set on four occasions with the latter coming at 24-18.  After back-to-back points by the Bears to make it 24-20, a kill by Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) capped the scoring in the match.

Inside the Box Score

* On top of clinching a postseason berth, it was a milestone day for the Tigers.  Senior Morgan Silks (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) finished the match with 39 assists and in the process surpassed 4,000 assists for her career.  The program's all-time leader in assists, Silks is the only player to reach and surpass 4,000.

* Covington entered the match tied for third place all-time in career kills with former standout Jillian Keeve (2008-11) with 1,299 kills.  Covington's kill early in the second set to give the Tigers a 5-3 lead turned out to be career kill 1,300 as she moved into sole possession of third place in the program's record book. With her nine kills versus the Bears, Covington now has 1,308 career kills.

* Krause recorded double-digit kills for the first time in her career as she finished with a career-high 12 kills off 19 attempts.  She committed just two attack errors to finish the match with an impressive .526 attack percentage.

* Juniors Allyssa Hartney (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) and Skylar Osenkarski (Harding, Pa./Holy Redeemer) each finished the match with 10 kills.

* Sophomore Faith Zehnder (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood) led the team with 11 digs.

* Bloomfield's Jaizahir Marrero led the match with 15 kills, while Jodianis Ibarra added 11 kills.
