How It Happened

* Holy Family trailed the opening set momentarily after the first rally, but from there the Tigers scored eight of the next nine points to lead, 8-2.  Holy Family went on to lead by as many as 11 points in the set after a Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) ace made the score 20-9.  The Tigers took the first set, 25-14. Holy Family took advantage of 10 attack errors by the Golden Falcons.

*  In the second set the Tigers opened with a 4-0 run and never trailed despite the Golden Falcons keeping the set close throughout.  Felician came within one point of the lead on a few occasions before tying the set at 20-20.  However, Holy Family responded with back-to-back kills by Johnson and junior Allyssa Hartney (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) to regain control. After a Golden Falcons kill, the Tigers scored the final three points capped with an ace by senior Morgan Silks (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll).

* Another early run by the Tigers set the tone in the third set.  After trailing 2-1 early on in the set, the Tigers scored five unanswered points to lead 6-2. The Golden Falcons would make it 7-6 with a mini 4-1 rally, but three straight points by the Tigers extended the lead to 10-6.  After a timeout, the Golden Falcons recorded a kill to make it 10-7 before rallied off another four points to lead 14-7.  The three point deficit was as close as the Golden Falcons would get as Holy Family cruised to a 25-15 victory in the set. Hartney recorded eight kills in the third set.
