Tigers Fall to Lions in Non-Conference Action



Rockville Centre, N.Y. – The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest at Molloy College by the score of 19-6 on Sunday afternoon at the RVC Sports Complex.

Game Recap
 
* Molloy scored the game's first nine goals, including four by Kara Rosenberg who finished with a game-high six goals on the afternoon. The Lions' defense held the Tigers scoreless until the 16:43 mark of the half when sophomore Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) scored to halt the Lions' run.  However, the home team went on to score five more goals before the half was up to take a 13-1 advantage into halftime.
 
* In the second half the Tigers were able to get the offense flowing producing five goals on 11 shot attempts after being held to just six shots the entire first half.  Freshman Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic) accounted for two of the Tigers' five second half scores.
 
News and Notes
 
* Pulley and Hardy each led the Tigers with two goals each. Holy Family also received goals from sophomore Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) and freshman Courtney Wolf (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional).
 
* Freshman Madeline Curran (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) led the team with four ground balls and also caused a turnover on defense.
 
* Molloy's Haille Ross totaled a game-high seven points after dishing out six assists and scoring a goal of her own.  Rosenberg finished with six goals, while Amanda Weber added five goals and an assist for six points for the Lions.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the seventh meeting between Holy Family and Molloy since the start of the 2009 season and the first match up since 2016.  The Lions are now 7-0 versus the Tigers in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 29 as the Tigers travel to face the University of New Haven in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 1 p.m. in West Haven, Conn.
