11/17/2020 12:00:00 AM

WTEN - CACC Revisited KolodiyNew Haven, Conn. – During the fall months, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) will take a look back at some of the top player of the week performances over the past several seasons.  The conference's seven fall championship sports (men's golf, women's tennis, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer and women's volleyball) will be revisited each week during the fall season right up until the eve of the holiday season in December.

Part of today's revisit included four-time women's tennis All-CACC selection in Anastasiya Kolodiy who was named the CACC Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 14 back in 2014.

In the team's only match that week, Kolodiy went 2-0 on the afternoon to help the Tigers to a 9-0 victory versus Dowling College.  Kolodiy teamed up with Emerald Adams at first doubles and came away with an 8-0 victory.

Kolodiy then won her first singles match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 over Dowling's Amanda Van Nostrand.

She went on to earn Player of the Week honors the following week to earn the weekly award twice during the 2014 fall season.

Kolodiy finished her career as one of only two women's tennis players to earn All-CACC honors all four seasons of collegiate action.  She earned All-CACC first team honors three times and received second team honors as a junior.

During her senior season Kolodiy was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division II East Region Most Improved Senior Player.  She finished her career with 24 singles victories, ninth most in program history.
