Game Recap

* Radley sparked the Tigers offense early on as she nearly outscored the Lightning herself with 12 points (5-8 FG), including a pair of three pointers.  The Tigers led by as many as six points (18-12) late in the quarter before ending the first 10 minutes with an 18-14 advantage.

* In the second quarter both teams struggled to get anything going offensively combining for seven field goals; three by the Tigers and four by the Lightning.  Each team scored eight points as the Tigers maintained their four-point advantage heading into half time with a 26-22 lead.

* Graduate student Mia Ehling (Linden, N.J./Holmdel (St. Francis)) gave the Tigers a boost to open the third quarter as she knocked down a three to extend the lead to seven points. The Lightning cut the deficit down to two points by the midway point (31-29), but the Tigers responded with a quick 6-0 run to make the score 37-29 at the 3:38 mark. The team bumped the lead up to as many as nine points a minute later on a basket by senior Casey Schweitzer (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) (42-33) before ending the quarter with a 45-37 advantage.

* Holy Family increased its lead to double-digits for the first time on the night in the fourth quarter and led by as many as 14 points on three separate occasions with the latter coming at the 3:36 mark.  Radley scored a basket to make the score 59-45.

* The Lightning though didn't go quietly as the home team rallied with an 11-0 run over the next two minutes of action.  Lexi Weikert capped the run with a three-pointer that brought the Lightning within one possession of the lead at 59-56. After a Holy Family timeout, the Lightning defense made a stop on the Tigers ensuing possession.  Goldey-Beacom was unable to capitalize on the opportunity despite grabbing a pair of offensive boards on the offensive end.

* Ehling converted a pair of free throws for the Tigers with :39 seconds remaining to increase the lead to 61-56.  Free throws turned out to be the difference down the stretch as the Tigers converted 6-of-10 attempts in the final :39 seconds.

* The Lightning came within one point after Weikert drained a three-pointer in the final seconds to make it a one-point game at 65-64.  GBC quickly fouled sending the Tigers back to the free throw line.  After two straight misses and a Tigers' turnover the Lightning were able to get off one last shot to potentially steal the game but the buzzer beater shot came up short.
