Radley Nets 1,000th Career Point as Tigers Win Sixth Straight



Bronxville, N.Y. – Senior Elizabeth Radley (Hainesport, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) officially joined the 1,000th career points club on Sunday afternoon in the Holy Family University women's basketball victory at Concordia College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.  The Tigers defeated the Clippers, 61-56, for their sixth straight victory.

Game Recap
 
* Radley's milestone basket came in the final minute of the third quarter as she extended the Tigers' lead to 46-39 at the time.  After a three-pointer by the Clippers, freshman Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) capped the scoring in the quarter to give the Tigers a 48-42 advantage heading into the final frame.
 
* Three minutes into the fourth, Moore gave the Tigers their first double-digit lead since the 2:20 mark of the second quarter when the Tigers led 29-19.  Moore's basket capped a mini 6-0 run for the Tigers that started with her final basket in the third to give HFU a 52-42 advantage.
 
* Over the next six minutes the Clippers chipped away at the Tigers lead and came within two points after Sara Hopkins split a pair of free throws to make the score 56-54 with 1:51 to play.  Hopkins free throw capped a 12-4 run by the Clippers.
 
* On the following Tigers possession, Radley gave the team some breathing room with a score.  The Clippers then turned the ball over resulting in a quick foul.  Radley split a pair of free throws to make the score 59-54 with :52 seconds to play.
 
* Concordia made the score 59-56 after a pair of made free throws and grabbed a defensive board after a missed Holy Family three-pointer with :25 seconds on the click.  Outside a timeout, the Clippers had a chance to tie the game but a three-pointer by Jaayden Lafontant hit off the rim.  Moore grabbed the defensive rebound and was fouled instantly.  Still with a foul to give, the Tigers inbounded the ball which was followed by another Clippers' foul.  Radley sank two free throws in the final seconds to put the game away.
 
News and Notes
 
* Radley became the 25th member of the 1,000th points club in program history after scoring a layup basket with :57 seconds remaining in the third quarter.  The basket gave her career points 999 and 1,000 for her career.  She finished the game with a team-high 16 points and currently has 1,005 points in her career.  Radley also totaled six rebounds and blocked five shots on defense tying her career-high.
 
* Moore finished with 14 points and four boards to go along with three defensive steals.  Junior Anjelai Hayes (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field while collected six boards and dishing out three assists.
 
* Concordia's Christina Brown led the Clippers with 14 points and eight rebounds.  Shanice Graves recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked just the 11th meeting between Holy Family and Concordia dating back to the 2009-10 season.  The Tigers are now 9-3 versus the Clippers, snapping a two-game losing streak in the all-time series.
 
Tigers Continue to Roll
Holy Family has now won six straight games; the team's longest winning streak since winning eight straight during the 2015-16 season.  The win also marked the team's 10th in conference play.  The last time the Tigers won double-digit conference victories was during the 2015-16 season as well.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 29 as the Tigers host Wilmington University in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Campus Center Gymnasium.  The Tigers are accepting donations of brand new basketballs which will be donated to The 6th Man Project.  Fans that bring new basketball to help support the charity will be admitted free of charge.
