Game Recap

* Each team held a five-point advantage in the second half with the Tigers lead coming at the 11:48 mark after a three-pointer by junior Devon Moore (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic (Merrimack College0) made the score 45-40. The Lions in-turn went on a 10-0 run over the next four-plus minutes to grab a five-point lead of their own.  Justin Figueroa capped the run with a layup that made the score 50-45 with 7:16 on the clock.

* Holy Family would eventually tie the game at 52-52 with 3:24 remaining after senior Branden Aughburns (Queens, N.Y./The Canterbury School (Hampton Univ.)) converted a pair of free throws.  Georgian Court responded on its next possession with a three-pointer by Alonzo Ortiz-Traylor to regain the lead.

* Down the stretch freshman Tayquan Busby (Baltimore, Md./Saint Frances Academy) split a pair of free throws to bring the Tigers within two points at 57-55 at the 1:41 mark. The Lions then turned the ball over but the Tigers were unable to capitalize on their possession.  Georgian Court ahead by two with :32 seconds remaining, missed a jumper as Busby grabbed a key defensive board for the Tigers.

* Moments after Busby's board, play was stopped as a technical foul was issued to the GCU bench. Moore converted both free throws for the Tigers with ease to tie the game at 57-57 with :28 seconds left.  The Tigers still with possession were unable to get a potential game-winning shot to fall as GCU's Caleb Bowser grabbed the defensive rebound and the Lions quickly called a timeout.  Outside the timeout, the Lions launched a desperation shot that fell short as the game headed to overtime.

* In overtime the Tigers never held the lead despite tying the game twice in the extra period.  Each time the Lions responded with a score to regain the lead.  The latter coming at the 1:29 mark after a jumper by junior Brendan Hoban (Watertown, Mass./Millbrook) tied the game at 64-64.  On the following possession, the Lions grabbed the lead back thanks to a jumper by Ortiz-Traylor.

* Bowser converted a pair of free throws for the Lions with :28 seconds remaining in overtime to make the score 68-64.  Sophomore Eric Esposito (Langhorne, Pa./Conwell Egan) drained a three on the ensuing Tigers possession to bring the deficit to one.  The Tigers fouled Bowser once more as he converted another pair of free throws to make the score 70-67 with :14 seconds showing on the clock.  Instead of allowing a potential game-tying three-pointer, GCU fouled sending Esposito to the line as he knocked down both free throws. Holy Family once again fouled Bowser who then made both attempts to make it a three-point game.  Bowser then stole the ball on the Tigers final possession and was fouled.  He split the free throws as the Lions came away with the victory.

* In the first half (back on Jan. 15) the Tigers erased a 28-22 deficit with 4:34 remaining until halftime.  The Tigers closed out the half on a 10-0 run capped by a jumper by Hoban as time expired.  Holy Family entered the locker rooms at the half with a 32-28 lead before the game was suspended.
