Game Recap

* Junior Sean McCormick (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) broke a 0-0 tie with his first goal of the season in the 57th minute.  McCormick beat out his defender to get off a shot that found the bottom left of the goal passed the diving keeper.  Sophomore Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm) was credited with the assist on the play.

* Later in the half, freshman Dakota Taylor (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) tallied his first collegiate goal to double the Tigers' lead in the 70th minute.  Taylor, who received a pass from sophomore Will Stackhouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), had a wide open shot after Stonehill's Andrew Hammersley came out of the net to challenge his shot.

* Stonehill spoiled the Tigers' shutout bid in the 89th minute after a penalty shot was rewarded to the Skyhawks.  Keegan Nutt converted the kick to make the score 2-1 on his first goal of the season.

News and Notes

* Senior goalkeeper Mark Tobin (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic (La Salle Univ.)) earned the victory as he made a pair of saves.  The Holy Family defense held the Skyhawks to just eight shots in the game.

* Nutt and Trevor Tubbs each had three shots for the Skyhawks.

* Today's win marked the Tigers' first opening day victory since 2016 when the Tigers defeat District of Columbia, 2-1, in overtime.
