Match Recap

* Trailing 2-1 in the match, the Tigers came up with a big win in set four.  The fourth set turned out to be a back-and-forth battle from beginning to end.  Holy Family faced match-point when Adelphi took a 24-23 lead.  However, a kill by freshman Allyssa Hartney (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) tied the set before the Tigers took the lead off an Adelphi attack error.  Senior Jillian Boyle (North Andover, Mass./North Andover (Rivier College)) closed out the set with an ace for the 26-24 victory to force a fifth and decisive set.

* Holy Family controlled the final set as the Tigers never trailed after the Panthers recorded the first point of the set.  Adelphi did tie the set on four occasions, but the Tigers grabbed the final lead of the match when senior Gianna Pesognelli (Phoenix, Ariz./Pinnacle) broke a 6-6 tie with a kill.  Maintaining a two point lead down the stretch, the Tigers went on to score the final three points to secure the 15-10 victory.  Freshman Skylar Osenkarski (Harding, Pa./Holy Redeemer) and junior Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) recorded book-end kills with Osenkarski also scoring a point on an ace in the final run.
