How It Happened (Game 1)

* Leading 6-1 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, Caldwell doubled its run total with a six run inning. Paige Sandoval accounted for four of the runs with a grand slam.  Carly Testa followed with a two-run single later in the inning to give the Cougars a 12-1 lead.

* Holy Family responded in the fifth inning with five runs off five hits.  Senior Sam Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) highlighted the inning with a two-run single.  Junior Tyler Beccari (Havertown, Pa./Haverford (Temple)) and freshman Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) also had run scoring hits in the inning.

* The Tigers added another run in the sixth when sophomore Taylor Nichols (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) drew a bases loaded walk to score senior Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) to make the score 12-7.  Caldwell was able to halt a potential big inning by the Tigers after back-to-back groundouts ended the inning.

* In the bottom of the sixth, Caldwell walked-off with the victory after plating five runs to force the run-rule.  Jessie Johnston delivered a three-run home run to cap the scoring.

* Hansen (2-4), Klem (2-4) and Nichols (1-2) each drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers.  Nolan and freshman Madelyn Yeager (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) both went 2-for-3 with a run.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* A seven-run second inning by Caldwell turned out to be the difference in the game.  The Cougars recorded six hits in the inning, including a grand slam by Maya Rodriguez.

* Holy Family scored its lone run in the fourth off a sacrifice fly by Hansen.

* Caldwell starter Mariah Culver (7-8) picked up the win as she allowed one run off two hits in a complete five-inning game.

* Nichols and freshman Jasmine Martinez (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Polytechnic) each went 1-for-2 for the Tigers.
