Felix Nets 100th Career Goal at Dominican



Hillburn, N.Y. - Holy Family University senior Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) recorded her 100th career goal in the Tigers' 17-11 setback at Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Tuesday afternoon at Torne Valley.

How It Happened
 
* Dominican scored the game's first two goals to grab the early lead before senior Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) scored the Tigers' first goal of the game at the 19:21 mark.  The Chargers responded with a score, but the Tigers answered right back when Felix connected on career goal number 100 at the 15:53 mark. 
 
* The Chargers tacked on another goal a minute later to increase their lead to 4-2.  Senior Vanessa Pagliei (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) scored back-to-back goals in an :18 second span to tie the game at 4-4.  However, Dominican went on to outscore the Tigers, 6-1, the final 13:08 of the half to lead 10-5 at halftime.
 
* In the second half the Chargers maintained their lead with the Tigers cutting the deficit to four goals on two separate occasions.  The later coming with 8:43 to play when Felix scored her third of four goals on the day to make the score 14-10.  Dominican closed out the game on a 3-1 run. 
 
News and Notes
 
* Felix became the ninth player in program history to surpass 100 career goals.  With her four goals on the day she now has 103 career goals and 133 career points, which ranks eighth most in the record books.  Felix also totaled five ground balls, five draw controls and caused a pair of turnovers.
 
* Pagliei and junior Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) finished with four points as well.  Pagliei finished with two goals and two assists to go along with three ground balls and four draw controls.  Brown totaled three goals and one assist, while causing a turnover on defense.
 
* Senior JoAnne Mamie (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) led the team with a season-high six ground balls to go along with two caused turnovers.
 
* Dominican's Jenna Kelleher scored a game-high five goals and finished with six points.  Alayna Heegan added four goals and an assist, while Jenna Fox totaled four goals and two assists.  Jamie Biddleman totaled a game-high seven ground balls.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 15th meeting between Holy Family and Dominican since the start of the 2009 season.  The Tigers are now 8-7 versus the Chargers in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family wraps up the regular season on Saturday, April 27 as the Tigers travel to face Caldwell University in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 10 a.m.
