Game 2: Bridgeport 2, Holy Family 1
Records: Holy Family (2-24) | Bridgeport (21-3)
Location: Bridgeport, Conn. (Seaside Park Softball Complex)

How It Happened (Game 1)

* Holy Family scored the game's first run in the top-half of the third inning when freshman Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) delivered a two-out double to right field to score sophomore Heather Bogardus (Ridley, Pa./Ridley)

* Starting pitcher, freshman Stephanie Uribe (San Diego, Calif./Liberty Charter High) (0-4), held the Purple Knights in-check through the first four innings.  Bridgeport got on the board in the bottom of the fifth thanks to an Allison Luzzi run scoring double. Uribe went on to retire the next three batters to close out the inning.

* Holy Family came close to scoring in the seventh to break the 1-1 tie but Bridgeport's starter Amanda Staheli (10-1) was able to get out of the jam.  Bogardus reached base on a one-out single and would go on to steal second and then advance to third on a wild pitch.

* Bridgeport came through with the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.  With two outs, Luzzi doubled to right-center before Elyssa Marmolejo drove her in with a base hit to center for the walk-off victory.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* In the nightcap both teams scored in the opening inning.  Holy Family tallied its run when senior Sam Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) dropped down a sacrifice bunt to score Bogardus who led the inning off with a walk.

* Bridgeport tied the game in the bottom of the inning and went on to take the lead in the second after taking advantage of a Holy Family error that led to a run.

* Freshman Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) (1-10) tied her season-high with seven strikeouts for the Tigers.  She allowed just one earned run and scattered four hits in six innings of work.

* Bridgeport's Ashley Eisnor (6-1) earned the win as she held the Tigers to just one run on five hits while striking out three batters.  Miranda Hillman picked up the save as she entered in the top half of the seventh to retire the final two batters.  Holy Family nearly tied the game in its last at-bats but was unable to get the tying run across.  The Tigers had a runner at third base in four of the final five innings.
