Tigers Take Down Golden Falcons on Senior Day



Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) recorded a game-high seven goals to help lead the Holy Family University women's lacrosse team to a 17-7 victory over Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field on Senior Day.

How It Happened
 
* Holy Family jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to back-to-back goals in the opening :90 seconds by seniors Caleigh Gallagher (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) and Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland).  Felician cut the lead to 2-1 before the Tigers erupted for five unanswered goals.  Senior Vanessa Pagliei (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) started the rally with two straight goals that would lead to a 7-1 Holy Family advantaged by the midway mark of the half.
 
* The Tigers would go on to outscore Felician, 4-2, the rest of the half to take an 11-3 lead into halftime.  Holy Family outshot the Golden Falcons, 26-9, in the opening half on its way to 46 for the game; one shy of its season-high.
 
* Holy Family maintained its lead the rest of the way and went on to increase its lead to double digits.  After Felician made the score 11-4, Felix tallied three straight goals over a four-minute span to give the Tigers a 14-4 advantage.  Felix scored four of her game-high seven goals in the second half.
 
News and Notes
 
* Felix tallied seven goals in the game; one shy of her career-high.  Her seven scores left her one goal shy of 100 for her career.  She also surpassed 30 goals in the season for the first time in her career as she now has a career-high 36 scores this season. 
 
* Senior Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) finished the game with six points on one goal and a career-high five assists.
 
* Junior Casey Schweitzer (Lagrangeville, N.Y./Arlington) led the team with six ground balls tying her career-high for the second straight game.
 
* Senior JoAnne Mamie (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) finished with five ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.
 
* Junior Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) filled the box score with two goals, one assist, five ground balls, three caused turnovers and four draw controls.
 
* Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Heath (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations Charter School) finished with eight saves as she earned the victory in net.
 
* Holy Family recorded a season-high 32 ground balls, while Felician managed just 16.
 
* Jashima Brathwaite and Jordyn Juvelier each scored a pair of goals for the Golden Falcons.  Goalkeeper Megan Euler made 24 saves after facing 46 shots on the day.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked just the fourth meeting between Holy Family and Felician in the all-time series that started in 2016.  The Tigers remain undefeated against the Golden Falcons with a 4-0 record.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, April 23 as the Tigers travel to face Dominican College in a CACC contest. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in Orangeburg, N.Y.
