How It Happened

* Jefferson opened the game on a 16-2 run and never looked back.  The Rams never trailed in the opening half, yet alone the game.  Jefferson led by as many as 24 points in the half after Josh Bradanese converted a pair of free throws to make the score 40-16 with less than three minutes to play before halftime.

* The Tigers would go on to keep the Rams scoreless the rest of the half and cut seven points off the deficit by closing out the half on a 7-0 run.  Freshman Kharon Randolph (Philadelphia, Pa./Haverford School) scored a layup to cap the scoring as the Tigers trailed, 40-23, entering the lockers room at halftime.

* In the second half the Tigers cut the deficit to single digits by outscoring the Rams, 21-13, over the first 6:30 minutes.  A pair of free throws by freshman Patrick Robinson III (Chesterfield, N.J./Conwell Egan) made the score 53-44.

* However, on the following Jefferson possession the Rams increased their lead back to double-digits after a three-pointer by Alexander Gorton made the score 56-44.  Jefferson swelled its lead to 18 points  (73-55) at the 6:06 mark of the half before the Tigers once again rallied to cut the deficit to nine points (77-68) with less than two minutes to play. That would be as close as the Tigers would get as Jefferson maintained a double-digit the rest of the way.

News and Notes

* Robinson recorded his second straight double-double and fourth of the season after leading the Tigers with 24 points and 11 rebounds.

* Junior Branden Aughburns (Queens, N.Y./The Canterbury School (Hampton Univ.)) finished with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Randolph tallied 12 points. Junior Vincenzo Dalessandro (Levittown, Pa./Conwell Egan (Pace Univ.)) also scored in double-figures as he added 11 points.
