How It Happened

* Dominican recorded the first big run of the game to grab a nine-point advantage by the 11:00 minute.  Leading 9-7, the Chargers used a 9-2 run to make the score 18-9 lead but Holy Family responded with its own rally.  The Tigers eclipsed seven straight points to cut the deficit down to 18-16 with 9:36 to play in the half.

* Holy Family eventually grabbed the lead since the opening minute when freshman Dymir Montague (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) knocked down a jumper to make the score 30-29 in favor of the Tigers with 2:24 on the clock.  However, Dominican scored eight straight points and 11 of the final 13 points scored of the half to take a 40-32 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.

* In the second half the Chargers maintained their lead the entire way despite the Tigers cutting the lead down to three-points after a Montague three-pointer made the score 40-37 at the 17:51 mark.  From there the Chargers used a 28-6 run over the next 12 minutes to pull away from the Tigers.  Ian Gardener capped the run with Dominican's largest lead of the game at 68-44 with 5:50 to play in regulation.

* The Tigers trimmed the lead the best they could in the final five minutes coming within 11 points thanks to a 15-2 run but time was not on their side to cut into the lead any further.  Junior Vincenzo Dalessandro (Levittown, Pa./Conwell Egan (Pace Univ.)) scored the game's final three points with a deep range shot.
