Tigers Fall to Neumann, 18-6



Aston, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest at Neumann University by the score of 18-6 on Monday afternoon.

How It Happened
 
* Neumann jumped out to a 6-0 with Brylin Adams and Kaitlyn Conrad combining for four of the six goals to open the game.  Conrad would go on to score a game-high eight goals.
 
* The Tigers received back-to-back goals from senior Vanessa Pagliei (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) and junior Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) to cut the deficit down to 6-2 at the 13:19 mark of the first half.  However, Neumann would go on to score four of the next five goals in the game to increase its lead to 10-3.  Pagliei capped the scoring in the first half with her second goal with five minutes to play in the half.  Neumann took a 10-4 lead into halftime.
 
* In the second half the Knights took full control of the game scoring seven unanswered goals to grab a 17-4 lead by the midway point of the half. 
 
* Holy Family received second half goals by seniors Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) and JoAnne Mamie (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy).
 
News and Notes
 
* On top of her two goals, Pagliei also totaled three ground balls and caused three turnovers on defense.
 
* Freshman Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) has scored a goal in her last three games.
 
* Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Heath (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations Charter School) tied her career-high with 11 saves in net for the Tigers.
 
* Freshmen Maura Coleman (Lower Moreland, Pa./Little Flower) and Yasmin Machlof each led the Tigers with four ground balls. 
 
* Felix controlled the draw for the Tigers as she recorded 11 draws to set a season-high.
 
* Holy Family recorded a season-high 33 shots, however Neumann's goalkeeper Catriona Corrigan made 21 saves in net setting a career-high. 
 
* Conrad led the game with 11 points after totaling eight goals and three assists for the Knights.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the first-ever meeting between Holy Family and Neumann.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, March 13 as the Tigers host the University of the District of Columbia.  Due to field conditions at Tigers Field, the game will be played at Bryn Athyn College.  Game time is set for 2:15 p.m.
