Tigers Fall to Nationally Ranked No. 19 NYIT



Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest at nationally ranked No. 19 NYIT by the score of 21-2 on Wednesday afternoon at President's Stadium.

How It Happened
 
*  NYIT scored the game's first 16 goals before the Tigers' got on the scoreboard with :44 seconds left in the first half when freshman Yasmine Machlof (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) tallied her second goal of the season.
 
* The Bears' offense pressured the Tigers' with 30 first-half shots.  NYIT finished the game with 43 shots, while holding the Tigers to just six.
 
News and Notes
 
* Freshman Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) scored her first collegiate goal with a tally in the second half for the Tigers. Pulley also caused a turnover on defense along with Machlof.
 
* Sophomore Jenna Heath (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations Charter School) recorded a career-high 11 saves for Holy Family.
 
* Brooke Basso and Madisyn Hausch each led NYIT with four goals apiece on the afternoon.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the third meeting between Holy Family and NYIT since the start of the 2017 season.  The Bears are 3-0 versus the Tigers in the short history.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, March 2 as the Tigers travel to face Queens College in a non-conference contest. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
