Match Recap

* Holy Family jumped out to an early match lead after taking the first set by the score 25-19.  The Tigers led throughout after opening with a 9-1 run.  Holy Family led by as many as 10 points in the match when a kill by junior Carly Covington (Delmar, Md./Delmar) made the score 20-10.  Despite a late surge by the Cougars, the Tigers were able to capitalize on two Caldwell errors to close out the set.

Trailing 15-14 the Tigers used a 9-1 run to grab a 23-16 advantage.  After four straight points by the Cougars, Pesognelli halted the run with her 1,000th career kill to make the score 24-20.  An attack error by the Cougars then gave the Tigers the set.

* The Holy Family offense remained hot in the fourth set as the Tigers totaled 14 kills on 24 attempts while committing just two errors for a .500 attack percentage.  Holy Family trailed only briefly after Caldwell scored the first point of the set.  From there the Tigers went on an 8-1 run and took control of the set. Later in the set the Tigers used another 8-1 run to lead 20-8.
