Findlay Scores Game-Winner in Double-OT



Caldwell, N.J. - Sophomore Kait Findlay (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored the game-winning goal with :17 seconds remaining in the second overtime period as the Holy Family University women's soccer team defeated Caldwell University, 3-2, in a rematch of last years Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game on Saturday afternoon at Caldwell Field.

Game Recap
 
* Findlay scored the game's most important goal with only :17 seconds remaining in the final overtime period.  The goal, her second of the game, gave the Tigers the sudden victory as her shot was deflected by a Caldwell defender.  Junior Cassie Kennedy (Delran, N.J./Delran (Rowan at Burlington County)) was credited with the assist.
 
* Findlay's two goals marked her third multi-goal game of the year and her second in the last three games. Her first goal came in the 43rd minute.  She now has seven goals on the year setting a new career-high.
 
* Junior Hannah Derby (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) scored the game's first goal in the 35th minute off a corner kick by freshman Stephanie Marino (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy).  It marked Derby's fourth score of the season tying her career-high.
 
* Caldwell scored two early second half goals to tie the game at 2-2.  Meghan Grundhauser scored the Cougars' first goal one minute into the second half and was followed by a goal from Sarah Costanza in the 48th minute.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 28th meeting between Holy Family and Caldwell since the start of the 1999 season.  The Tigers are now 21-6-1 versus the Cougars in the all-time series winning four of the last five meetings.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 15 as the Tigers travel to face Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
