Taylor Lifts Tigers to Overtime Victory



Caldwell, N.J. - Overtime victories turned out to be the theme of the day for the Holy Family University soccer teams.  Two hours after the women's squad delivered an overtime triumph, the men's team followed suit thanks to freshman Dakota Taylor (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) scoring the game-winner in the 93rd minute to lift the Tigers past Caldwell University, 3-2, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Caldwell Field.

Game Recap
 
* Trailing 2-1 with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation, junior Davis Habilaj (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) connected on his first goal of the season to tie the game in the 81st minute.  Sophomore Will Stackhouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) set the score up with a cross pass from the left side in front of the net allowing Habilaj to find the back of the net.
 
* In overtime, Habilaj returned the favor as he found Taylor in front of the net setting up the game-winning score in the 93rd minute. It marked Taylor's third goal of the season and his second game winning score.
 
News and Notes
 
* Sophomore Georg Montag (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored the team's first goal in the 26th minute to tie the game at 1-1.  It was his fourth goal of the season. 
 
* Caldwell received goals from Andre Vieira in the 13th minute and Andrea Rizzi in the 57th minute.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 21st meeting between Holy Family and Caldwell since the start of the 2000 season.  The Tigers are now 9-11-1 versus the Cougars in that span.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 16 as the Tigers travel to face Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC contest.  Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
