Tigers Fall to Golden Rams in Non-Conference Contest



West Chester, Pa. - The Holy Family University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest at West Chester University by the score of 4-1 on Thursday afternoon at Rockwell Field.

How It Happened
 
* West Chester separated itself from Holy Family late in the first half when Stephen Thompson broke the scoreless tie with his first goal of the season.  Thompson's goal came in the 37th minute.
 
* The Golden Rams tacked on back-to-back goals in the 59th minute when Jason Pixley and Doug Goitia each scored :31 seconds apart to make the score 3-0.
 
* Holy Family lit the scoreboard in the 67th minute when Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm) connected on his second goal of the season.  He attempted a shot from the far corner of the box to beat the West Chester keeper.
 
* West Chester added another score in the 86th minute to cap the scoring.  Goitia tallied his second goal of the game and fifth of the season.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the ninth meeting between Holy Family and West Chester since the start of the 2001 season.  The Tigers are now 2-7-0 versus the Golden Rams in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 as the Tigers host Dominican College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.  Game time is set for 2:30 p.m.  Please note the venue change.  Due to field conditions at Tiger Field, the game will be played at Council Rock High School North in Newtown.
