Tigers Fall to Wildcats, 2-0, in CACC Action



Newark, Del. - The Holy Family University women's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at Wilmington University by the score of 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

How It Happened
 
* Two second half goals by the Wildcats turned out to be the difference in the game. Kelly Robbins gave Wilmington a 1-0 early in the second half.  In the 48th minute Robbins received a pass from Alex Keck as she converted on her third goal of the season to break a 0-0 tie.
 
* The Wildcats doubled their lead in the 67th minute after Cassidy McErlain tallied her second goal of the season off a cross pass from Krysta Memis.
 
News and Notes
 
* Senior Bree Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) led the Tigers with six total shots, including three on-goal.  Sophomore Alexis Teschko had two shots with both being on-target. 
 
* Sophomore goalkeeper Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) made five saves in net for the Tigers after facing 16 shots from the Wildcats' offense.
 
* Wilmington goalkeeper Kate Tubo stopped seven shots on her way to recording the shutout victory.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 25th meeting between Holy Family and Wilmington dating back to the 2000 season.  The Tigers are now 19-6-0 versus the Wildcats in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 29 as the Tigers host Dominican College in a CACC contest. Due to field conditions at Tiger Field, the game will now be played at Council Rock High School North in Newtown.  Game time is still set for 12 p.m.
