Tigers Pluck Eagles 3-0 in CACC Action



Villanova, Pa. - Three second-half goals propelled the Holy Family University women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Higgins Soccer Complex on the campus of Villanova University.

How It Happened
 
* Holy Family finally got one by Post goalkeeper Cheyenne Grim early in the second half.  Sophomore Hannah Derby (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) tallied her second goal of the season in the 55th minute after beating Grim on a breakaway score from the defense.
 
* The Tigers doubled the lead in the 67th minute when senior Alyssa Christiansen (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) scored her first goal of the season off a pass from sophomore Grace Stackhouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan).  Later in the half Stackhouse connected on her first collegiate goal in the 81st minute.  She gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead after receiving a crosspass from senior Bree Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem).
 
News and Notes
 
* Sophomore goalkeeper Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) picked up the win in net as she recorded her first complete shutout of the season.  Pudlo made six saves in net after facing 11 shots.
 
* Grim totaled 10 saves for the Eagles in net, including six in a scoreless first half.  She took on 18 shots by the Holy Family offense for the game.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 22nd meeting between Holy Family and Post dating back to the 1997 season. The Tigers are now 21-1-0 versus the Eagles after winning the last five contests in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18 as the Tigers host the University of Bridgeport in a non-conference contest. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Tiger Field.
