How It Happened

* It didn't take long for the Tigers to score their first goal of the 2018 season.  Junior Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the first minute after connecting on a cross pass from freshman Yasmine Machlof (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland).  Brown's early goal propelled the Tigers to three more first half goals.  Senior Bree Rock (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) scored a pair of goals followed by a goal by freshman Jaqueline Ziegler to cap the half as Holy Family led 4-0.

* Holy Family doubled the score with another four goals in the second half.  Freshman Kaitlyn Findlay (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), junior Susie Blaney (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower), sophomore Mackenzie Meyers (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) and Ziegler all scored in the final 45 minutes.

* The Holy Family defense stifled the Lincoln offense holding the Lions to just three shots in the game.  All three came in the first half with none on-goal.

News/Notes

* Rock and Ziegler each finished with two goals and one assist.  Ziegler's goal in the 26th minute marked the first of her collegiate career.

* In addition to Ziegler, three other players scored their first collegiate goals in today's victory.  Findlay came through with her first goal in the 52nd minute followed by Blaney's first collegiate score in the 55th minute and Meyers' goal in the 60th minute.

* Sophomore Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) made the start in net for the Tigers and made way for freshman Alayna McSeed (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) in the second half as the Holy Family keepers split time in the shutout victory.
