How It Happened (Game 1)

* Caldwell and Holy Family exchanged runs in the first inning.  Senior Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) homered to right field for her third home run of the season to tie the game at 1-1.

* The Cougars tacked on three runs over the next two innings to grab a 4-1 lead before Favinger connected on her 11th home run of the season and 25th of her career in the bottom of the third.  Favinger's solo shot over the center field fence set a new program record and made the score 4-2.

* Holy Family entered the bottom of the fifth inning trailing 7-2 but Favinger struck again this time with a two-run triple to right-center.  The two RBI pushed her career total to 117 breaking the program record of 115.

* Caldwell added two more runs in the sixth and broke the game open in the seventh with four runs. The Cougars had four players record run scoring hits in the seventh.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* The Holy Family offense got to Caldwell's Jessie Johnston right off the bat.  The Tigers plated five runs in the first inning off five hits.  Seniors Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) and Jen Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) each drove in two runs each.  Cudeyro drove in a pair with a double to right-center before Trapp launched a two-run home run over the leftfield fence.  It marked her first long ball of the season.

* The Tigers went on to double their lead in the bottom of the fourth with another five runs off five hits.  With the bases loaded senior Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) drew a walk before sophomore Tyler Beccari (Havertown, Pa./Haverford (Temple)) drove in two with a double.  Junior Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) followed with a run scoring single to make the score 9-0.  Cudeyro capped the scoring with a RBI single up the middle to score Beccari.

* Orozco (7-9) held the Caldwell offense in-check for the first 4.1 innings. She allowed only three hits and zero runs until the final frame.  The Cougars managed one run on a sacrifice fly before the Tigers' defense pulled off a double-play to end the game.  Orozco went the distance for her seventh win of the season.

Game Notes

* The opener was a record breaking game for Favinger.  In back-to-back at-bats she became the program's all-time leader in home runs and RBI.  She now has 25 home runs and 118 RBI in her career.  The previous home run record was held by Deanna Myers (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) (2010-2013 | 24HRs) and Sharon Brown (1996-1999 | 115 RBI) held the RBI record.

* Cudeyro went 2-for-3 in game two with a double and three RBI.  Trapp drove in two runs with her home run in the first, while Beccari drove in a pair of runs after going 1-for-3 with two runs.

* Sophomore Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge) was held hitless in game one but bounced back in game two with a 2-for-3 performance.  She now sits at 98 career hits and will enter her next game two shy of 100.

* Caldwell's Melissa Rini went 1-for-2 in game one with two RBI, two runs and three walks.  Anyssia Ramirez went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two walks.  The Cougars had nine batters drive in runs in the opener.
