How It Happened (Game 1)

* Holy Family jumped out to a quick start with sophomore Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge) opening the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run.  The Tigers doubled their lead later in the inning when senior Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) scored after reaching base on a fielder's choice earlier in the inning.

* Goldey-Beacom got on the board in the top half of the second after Kylie Quirk hit her first home run of the season making the score 2-1.

* Holy Family countered in the bottom of the inning when Marigliano drove in senior Jen Trapp (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) with a single up the middle.  Marigliano's second RBI of the game made the score 3-1.

* The Lightning tacked on a run in the top half of the fourth before the Tigers responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning.  Freshman Heather Bogardus (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) and senior Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) each had run scoring doubles in the inning to account for the scoring.

* Goldey-Beacom made things interesting in the top half of the seventh with two runs.  Lauren Conway and Rachel Davis each drove in a run for the Lightning before starting pitcher Casey Boltersdorf (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) struck out Dianna Gatto to close out the game for her third win of the season.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* Goldey-Beacom jumped out to a 2-0 lead after a first inning two-run homer by Kasey Goshorn.

* The Tigers got a run back in the bottom of the inning when Favinger connected on her first of two home runs in the game.  The solo shot marked her eighth home run of the season.

* After the first two batters in the bottom of the second reached base, Bogardus launched her first career home run over the left field fence to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.

* Holy Family added another run in the bottom of the third thanks to a double by Trapp before plating five runs in the bottom of the fourth.  The Tigers sent nine batters to the plate in the inning six hits, including a three-run home run by Favinger.

* Orozco allowed only two base runners the final three innings on her way to her fifth victory of the season.

Game Notes

* With her two home runs in game two, Favinger now has nine on the season and 23 in her career moving into sole possession of second place on the program's all-time home run list.  Her next home run will tie the program record of 24 set by former standout Deanna Myers (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) (2010-2013).  Also, with her five RBI in the doubleheader she now has 109 in her career; six shy of Sharon Brown's (1996-1999) program record of 115.

* Orozco picked up her fifth win of the season in game two and now has 40 victories in her career.  She is just the third pitcher in the program's NCAA Division II era to win 40 or more games.  Orozco joins former teammate Bailey Walters (Ridgecrest, Calif./Burroughs) (2014-2017) and former all-star Jody Searfoss (2007-10) as the only other pitchers to do so in their respective careers.  Both Walters and Searfoss each have 48 career victories.

* Marigliano went 4-for-8 in the doubleheader with two runs and two RBI, including her second home run of the season.  With those four hits she now has 89 in her career; 11 shy of 100 for her career.

* Bogardus' three-run homer in game two was the first of her career…She finished the doubleheader with three hits, two runs and four RBI.

* Sophomore Tyler Beccari (Havertown, Pa./Haverford (Temple)) finished the doubleheader 4-for-7, while Trapp went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
