How It Happened (Game 1)

* Chestnut Hill opened the game with a run in the first but from there on out it was all Tigers.  Holy Family plated three runs in the second inning to jump-start its offense.  With the two outs and the bases loaded sophomore Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge) drove in two with a single down the right field line. Senior Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J./Gloucester County Inst. of Tech.) followed with an infield hit that scored junior Casey Boltersdorf (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead.

* Holy Family added four more runs in the third inning courtesy of the long ball.  Sophomore Tyler Beccari (Havertown, Pa./Haverford (Temple)) led the inning off with a single and was immediately followed by a two-run shot by junior Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash./Shorecrest) over the left field fence.  Junior Sam Klem (San Diego, Calif./Clairemont) delivered a single to left field before senior Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) connected on a two-run homer to left to make the score 7-1 all happening before a single out in the inning.

* The Tigers tacked on two runs in the fourth inning when Klem singled in a run with the bases loaded.  Later in the inning freshman Heather Bogardus (Ridley, Pa./Ridley) forced in a run when she earned a walk with the bases still full.

* Boltersdorf (1-8) took advantage of the run support as she picked up her first victory of the season. She held Chestnut Hill to just one run on two hits.  She finished the game with four strikeouts.

How It Happened (Game 2)

* Holy Family jump out front first in game two to give starting pitcher Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul) an early lead.  With two outs and a runner on second, sophomore Julia Vizza (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) doubled to left-center field to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.  The Tigers doubled the lead in the third inning when Nolan ripped a two-out double to right-center scoring Orozco.

* Chestnut Hill cut the lead in half with a run in the top half of the fourth.  Lily Winn scored on a Holy Family error making the score 2-1.

* Holy Family broke the game open in the fifth inning when Klem cleared the bases with a grand slam home run over the left field fence.  The round tripper gave the Tigers a 6-1 lead.

* The Griffins came through with a run in the top half of the sixth but the Tigers got that one back in the bottom of the inning.  Marigliano connected on her first career home run; a solo shot over the center field fence to cap the scoring.

* Orozco (3-8) allowed just one earned run while tying her season-high with seven strikeouts in a complete game performance.

Game Notes

* The Holy Family offense recorded a season-high 16 runs and 26 hits, including four home runs in the doubleheader.
