Tigers Wrap Up Florida Trip

Clermont, Fla. - The Holy Family University softball team wrapped up its annual Florida trip with its final two games versus non-conference opponents.  The Tigers fell to Cedarville University, 6-0, and came up short versus East Region opponent Le Moyne College, 4-2.

Game One: Cedarville 6, Holy Family 0
Game Two: Le Moyne 4, Holy Family 2
Records: Holy Family (0-10) | Cedarville (8-7) | Le Moyne (12-2)
Location: Clermont, Fla.

How It Happened (Cedarville)

* Cedarville scored two runs in the top half of the first inning and that was enough for starting pitcher Morgan Arbogast (3-4) as she held the Tigers scoreless through seven innings of work.  She allowed just three hits and one walk on her way to her third win of the season.

* Kara Eiginger finished the game 2-for-4 for the Yellow Jackets as she recorded a double and a two-run triple in the seventh.  She also scored twice.

* Seniors Alyssa Cudeyro (Sicklerville, N.J./Washington Twp.) and Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif./St. Paul), along with sophomore Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford, N.Y./Plainledge), had hits for the Tigers.

How It Happened (Le Moyne)

* Le Moyne struck first in this one thanks to a two-out two-run single by Olivia Littman in the bottom of the second inning.  The Dolphins tacked on single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to double their lead at 4-0 after five complete.

* Le Moyne starter Alexis Eastman (7-1) held the Tigers' offense in-check through the first six innings without allowing a single run.  Holy Family got to Eastman in the top of the seventh.  With the bases loaded and two out Marigliano stepped to the plate and delivered a two-run single to make the score 4-2. However, Eastman was able to retire the next batter to hold off a potential Holy Family comeback.

All-Time Series
Holy Family was facing Cedarville for the first time in program history. The Tigers and Dolphins meanwhile were meeting up for the fourth time in the short history dating back to 2009.  Le Moyne holds the edge in the series with a 4-0 record.

Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Sunday, March 18 as the Tigers host Molloy College in a non-conference doubleheader at Bensalem High School.  First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
