Tigers Fall to Wildcats in CACC Opener



Bryn Athyn, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener to Wilmington University by the score of 19-9 on Tuesday afternoon at General Ronald K. Nelson Field on the campus of Bryn Athyn College.

How It Happened
 
* Wilmington scored five of the first six goals of the game and closed out the first half with five unanswered goals before Holy Family scored in the final seconds as the Wildcats led 12-4 at the half.
 
* In the second half Holy Family cut the lead in half after scoring three goals in the first four minutes.  Senior Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) accounted for two as the Tigers trailed 14-7. 
 
* Wilmington rallied late scoring five of the next six goals in the game to mount a 19-8 lead with less than four minutes to play in regulation.
 
Game Notes
 
* Bachmayer scored a season-high five goals to lead the Holy Family offense.  She now has a team-best 15 goals on the season.  She also picked up three ground balls and controlled five draws.
 
* Junior Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional) finished the game with three points after scoring two goals and assisting on another.  Trevito also totaled a pair of ground balls.
 
* Junior Caleigh Gallagher (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) led the team with five ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers.  Junior Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) picked up four ground balls and caused a team-best three turnovers while controlling six draws.
 
* Wilmington's La'Dae Boykin led the team with a game-high nine points with six goals and three assists. Lashay Ross finished with three goals and two assists for five points while controlling a game-high 13 draws.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 19th meeting all-time between Holy Family and Wilmington dating back to the 2009 season. The Tigers are now 13-6 versus the Wildcats in the series.
