Tigers Fall to Nationally Ranked NYIT



Bryn Athyn, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference match up versus nationally ranked No. 16 NYIT by the score of 20-6 on Saturday night at General Ronald K. Nelson Field on the campus of Bryn Athyn College.

How It Happened
 
* The NYIT Bears scored the game's first five goals on its way to a 17-goal first half.  Alyssa Milano led the Bears with a game-high six goals; all coming in the first half.
 
* NYIT outshot the Tigers, 34-12, and held an advantage on the draw winning 19-of-27 for the game. 
 
Game Notes
 
* Senior Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) led the Tigers with two goals, both coming in the second half, to increase her team lead to 10 scores on the season.  She also led the team with five draw controls.
 
* Holy Family received goals from juniors Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland), JoAnne Mamie (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) and Dana Trevito (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern Regional).  Sophomore Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) also tallied a goal for her first of the season.
 
* Milano recorded a game-high eight points (6G/2A) for the Bears… Lexi Ruiz and Karie Znaniecki each tallied three goals apiece.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the second meeting between Holy Family and NYIT in the short series between the two teams.  The Bears improve to 2-0 versus the Tigers.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Wednesday, March 21 as the Tigers travel to face Nyack College to open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.  Game time is set for 3 p.m.
