How It Happened

* Holy Family used a 12-0 run to break a 10-10 tie with less than four minutes to play in the first quarter and in the process grabbed the games first double-digit lead.  Senior Alexis Hofstaedter (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South (William & Mary)) capped the run with a pair of free throws with six seconds remaining in the quarter.  The Lightning cut the lead to single digits (22-13) on a last second three-pointer by Britani Bryson to send the quarter.

* The Tigers increased their lead to as many as 18 points in the second quarter after opening on a 12-3 run.  Junior Casey Thomas (Hammonton, N.J./Cedar Creek) gave the Tigers a 34-16 lead after connecting on jumper inside the paint.  Holy Family would go on to lead, 41-26, at the half.

* A big third quarter by the Lightning would erase the 15-point advantage by the Tigers.  Goldey-Beacom would eventually tie the game at 49-49 at the 2:30 mark of the quarter.  Both teams exchanged baskets multiple times in the final few minutes of the quarter as Holy Family escaped with a one-point lead (56-55) heading into the final 10 minutes.

* In the fourth quarter the Tigers never relinquished the lead but the Lightning did tie the game at 64-64 with three minutes remaining in regulation.  Holy Family responded by outscoring Goldey-Beacom, 12-5, the rest of the way to pull off the victory.
