Tigers Fall to Marauders, 17-4



West Chester, Pa. - The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest versus Millersville University by the score of 17-4 on Tuesday night at Vonnie Gros Field on the campus of West Chester University.

How It Happened
 
* Millersville scored the game's first six goals over the first six-plus minutes of action to take control early on in the half.  Sabrina Fusco and Callie Kavanaugh each scored two goals during the opening run.
 
* Holy Family halted the run with back-to-back goals by senior Rose Bachmayer (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) at the 19:16 and 18:13 minute marks to cut the lead down to 6-2.  However, Millersville responded with four straight goals before the Tigers scored the final goal of the half. Junior Devon Felix (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) came through with a goal with less than :30 seconds to play before halftime as the Marauders held a 10-3 lead at the half.
 
* In the second half the Tigers were outscored 7-1.  Millersville scored five straight goals to open the final half taking its biggest lead of the game at 15-3 at the 5:38 mark. 
 
News and Notables
 
* Bachmayer and Felix accounted for the four goals scored by the Tigers… Bachmayer finished with two goals, two ground balls and caused three turnovers, while Felix tallied two goals to go along with three ground balls and two draws… Senior Taylor Walker (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) led the team with five ground balls… Sophomore Casey Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) had two assists.
 
* Fusco led the Marauders with six points on four goals and two assists… Sarah Leverentz filled the box score with three goals, a game-high eight ground balls, two caused turnovers and a game-best seven draw controls… Kristen Butzner finished with two goals and three assists for five points.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the fourth meeting all-time between Holy Family and Millersville since the start of the 2014 season.  The Tigers are now 1-3 versus the Marauders in the series.
 
Next Up
Holy Family returns to action on Friday, March 9 as the Tigers travel to face Shippensburg University in a non-conference match up.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
